Cybervale issued a newsletter on “Protecting your Computer” against virus, worms and other malicious programs, this newsletter can be viewed on www.cybervale.com under news/archive.
The W32.Sasser.Worm was released in May 2004 this will mainly affect Windows XP and 2000. The Sasser Worm can run on (but not infect) Windows 95/98/ME computers. It can still be used to infect vulnerable systems that they are able to connect to. In this case, the worm will waste a lot of resources so that programs cannot run properly, for further information visit www.updatexp.com/sasser-worm.html or http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.sasser.removal.tool.html
Time and time again you will see emails in your mailbox from unknown solicitors this is called SPAM or Unsolicited Commercial Emails (UCE). How it works? Spammers will capture your email address and you will continuously receive spam mails. To reduce the number of spam mails you receive limit how you share your emails address. For example, if subscribing to any online email communication review the terms and conditions regarding sharing of email addresses.
