FUSION SPLICING
A fusion splice is a junction of two (or more) optical
fibers that have been melted together. This is accomplished with a machine that
performs two basic functions: aligning of the fibers and melting them together
typically using an electric arc.
*
MECHANICAL SPLICING
A mechanical splice is an optical junction
of two (or more) optical fibers that are aligned and held in place by a self-contained
assembly (usually the size of a large carpenter's nail). The fibers aren't permanently
joined, just precisely held together so that light can pass from one to another.
*
CABLE TERMINATION
Cable Termination
is the connection of the wire or fiber to a device, such as equipment, panels
or a wall outlet, which allows for connecting the cable to other cables or devices.
This involves the organizing of cables by destination, forming and dressing
cables, and proper labeling as well as creating a connection with a copper or
fiber conductor.

NETWORK SERVICES
In the computing
field, networking is the practice of linking computer devices together, using
hardware and software to support data communications among them. Networks can
be categorized in several different ways. A standard approach determines the
type of network according to the geographic area it spans. Local area networks
(LANs), for example, typically reach across a single home, whereas wide area
networks (WANs), reach across cities, states, or even the world. The Internet
is the world's largest public WAN.
